We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking, organized person to provide exceptional support to the firm in a busy department.

Key Functions

  • Prepare documents based on written instruction or verbal direction
  • Proofread and edit all documentation for grammar, spelling, and content accuracy
  • Maintain diary system for all stages of a file
  • Draft and prepare letters, e-mails, and accounts
  • Draft and prepare necessary requests with accounting department to deal with trust funds
  • Post time sheets, prepare e-mails and correspondence
  • Organize and self-manage workload and files
  • Draft and prepare reports and accounts to lenders

Requirements

  • Legal Assistant certification
  • At least three years of direct work experience in Residential and/or Commercial Real Estate Conveyancing, Lending and Leasing
  • Strong knowledge of basic legal concepts, principles, and terminology
  • Good understanding of legal reference materials, procedures and legal filing systems, trust letters, statements of adjustments, conveyancing financing security documentation, purchase, and sale documentation
  • High level organization, time management, sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and diplomacy
  • Meticulous file records maintenance skills

  • Off-title due diligence searches
  • Complete Closing Book and Report to Client

To assist lawyers practicing in the areas of Wills & Estate, Guardianship and Trusteeship. We are looking for a full time, enthusiastic, motivated person to work in a busy department.

The successful candidate having strong Microsoft Word skills, exceptional organizational skills, and able to handle a wide variety of legal and administrative duties within the legal sphere. This includes the preparation of legal documents and correspondence, responding to inquiries and have a broad and thorough knowledge of concepts and principles is essential to this role. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.

Key Functions:

  • Capable of handling busy practice with tight timelines;
  • Preparing of will documents, (Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Personal Directives);
  • Preparation of Estate Application documentation;
  • Preparation of Represented Adult Application documentation;
  • Drafting and preparing of accounts;
  • Drafting and proofreading routine correspondence, letters, and other related documents;
  • Instruct court runner, monitor filings;
  • Fax/E-filing to various court locations;
  • Responding to inquiries, good communication skills;
  • Maintaining files, entering time, and preparing billings;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Prioritizing workflow;
  • Strong knowledge of basic legal concepts, principles, and terminology; and
  • All other matters relating to the above.

Requirements

  • Paralegal/Legal Assistant certification preferred/combination of education and experience
  • Three plus years of direct work experience in Wills and Estates
  • Critical thinking analysis, and research skills are essential
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and diplomacy
  • Superior interpersonal skills to interact with employees, lawyers, clients, departments, and external agencies
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills
  • Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion; knowledge of data privacy laws
