Josh is a partner at Bishop & McKenzie. Josh’s career and practice are focused on advising and serving the needs of private business owners in Alberta. Whether it be assisting with transitioning a family business, putting together employee ownership incentive plans, assisting clients with developing best business practices or advising business owners on their personal estate plans, Josh takes the time to get to know his clients, their goals and plans. His knowledge of businesses becomes ever more important as those businesses grow, age and change.

Josh works with businesses at all stages in their development and is excited to assist and advise start-up businesses and investors in Alberta’s growing tech sector. He is interested in how technological innovation and artificial intelligence is changing the practice of law and the businesses of his clients.

Prior to his legal career, Josh spent his early years working with his entrepreneurial father before becoming an account executive for a large international courier company and subsequently musical director for a church in Southwest Edmonton. His life experience outside of his legal practice serves him within it as he provides well-rounded, comprehensive advice.

When not working, Josh listens to vinyl, plays piano and volunteers musically with his church, among other pursuits. He and his wife have two children and a brand new puppy who, no doubt, runs the place. During the summer months they all like to get out, travel and go camping.
